Arc-rated workwear built for serious electrical work:
When you’re working around live electricity, there’s no margin for guesswork. You’re responsible for keeping yourself or your team protected, compliant, and able to focus on the job without distraction or fear.
Arc flashes are unpredictable and unforgiving. The wrong gear puts lives at risk.
That’s why Jaedon designs and manufactures arc-rated workwear that’s made to perform in the real world, not just pass a test.
Effective arc protection isn’t a single garment. It’s a system:
Multi-layer protection that works together.
Jaedon supplies a full range of arc flash-rated clothing designed to work in layers, so you can build protection that matches the risk, the conditions, and the work being done.
Base layers include undergarments and thermals that sit comfortably against the skin and help regulate temperature. Our NZ-made ArcTech Merino® thermals provide natural breathability while adding essential insulation.
Mid layers include arc-rated shirts, jackets, pants, overalls, and coats that deliver protection without unnecessary bulk. Each piece is designed to move with you, reduce heat stress, and stand up to hard use.
Outer layers add the final line of defence, increasing arc protection while maintaining airflow and mobility.
We also supply flame-resistant undergarments, including boxer briefs and sports bras, because protection should never come at the cost of comfort or dignity.
Specialised arc-rated PPE for high-risk environments
Some jobs demand more than standard protection:
Jaedon supplies specialised arc-rated PPE garments and accessories for high-voltage and high-exposure work. Our switching suits are lightweight yet deliver significantly higher protection, rated at 46cal compared to standard 8.8 to 12.2cal kits.
Ergonomic inner and outer gloves allow precise electrical work while keeping hands protected. Flash hoods and face shields provide full coverage without compromising visibility. Caps, sunhats, helmets, and other headwear complete the system so nothing is left exposed.
This is gear designed for people who need to stay focused under pressure.
Rescue kits and safety hardware for complete protection
Protection doesn’t stop at clothing:
Jaedon supplies arc flash safety hardware designed for the moments when things go wrong and fast action matters. Our range includes insulated sticks, safety bags, mats, and purpose-built rescue kits for safety operators.
Rescue kits include gloves, torches, first aid supplies, and long-distance rescue hooks, giving teams the tools they need to respond quickly and safely.
For work on lines and towers, we also provide arc-rated height safety equipment, including harnesses, adjustable pole straps, and safety helmets designed for demanding environments.
The goal isn’t just compliance. It’s confidence.
When your gear fits properly, works as intended, and holds up over time, your team can focus on the task instead of the risk. That’s how good decisions get made and incidents get avoided.
If you’re unsure whether your current arc-rated gear is truly fit for purpose, we can help. We’ll talk through your work conditions, your risks, and your requirements, then recommend solutions that make sense.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between arc and flame-retardant clothing?
Arc-rated protective clothing has been developed and tested to guard against electrical arc flashes. Arc flashes are extremely hot, reaching temperatures up to 19,000°C, which can cause lasting burn damage in milliseconds. Flame-retardant clothing is self-extinguishing, which lowers the risk of burn damage caused by garment ignition.
All arc-rated protective clothing is flame-retardant, but not all flame-retardant clothing is arc-rated.
How is arc-rated clothing rated?
The flame resistance of a piece of arc clothing is tested to the NFPA 70E standard, which measures PPE level. This corresponds to the amount of incident energy (in cal/cm2) on a material that results in a 50% probability of a 2nd-degree skin burn injury— also known as ATPV (Arch Thermal Performance Value).
Essentially, the higher the cal/cm2, the higher the arc-rated clothing level and the more protective the clothing is.
What is arc-rated clothing made of?
Arc-rated protective clothing uses materials that are insulative (protecting against heat exposure) and self-extinguishing (don’t ignite when exposed to fire). ArcTech Merino® uses a merino-viscose mix that provides soft yet durable comfort, while ARCPRO® uses a cotton-rich blend that offers lightweight breathability.
Is arc-rated clothing shockproof or electrically insulating?
Insulated arc-proof gloves can help guard against electric shocks.
Wear inner rubber gloves and outer leather gloves concurrently for maximum safety.
What types of industries require arc-rated clothing?
Arc clothing is essential for jobs that involve working with high voltages.
Examples include electrical workers, energy technicians, and industrial electricians.
How do you layer arc-rated workwear?
Layering arc-rated protective clothing effectively boosts protection for the wearer as the trapped air acts as another layer of insulation. We offer base layer, mid layer, and outer layer arc flash clothing for every part of the body. Note that flame-resistant underwear is just as important, as it can reduce the risk of burns caused due to ignition.
Always wear gloves and a face shield when working with high voltages.
