Protection against arc flash hazards
What does arc-rated mean? Arc-rated garments are specifically tested to shield workers from arc flash incidents – dangerous electrical discharges reaching temperatures up to 19,000 °c. These flashes can cause serious injury or even be fatal, which is why meeting rigorous safety standards is critical. All our fire-resistant, arc-rated beanies comply with NFPA 70E Level 2 (rated 8.0 cal/cm² to 19.0 cal/cm²) and ISO 15025 A (Flame spread and surface ignition). These standards ensure the arc beanies won't ignite, melt, or contribute to injury in the event of an arc flash.
Built for comfort, designed for the field
We use premium materials that work as hard as your crew does. Merino wool blends offer natural temperature regulation and moisture-wicking properties to help keep wearers warm and protected year-round – whether on their own or under a helmet. And our fleece styles add extra warmth without sacrificing flexibility.
Versatile styles for different work environments
Every job is different, which is why we offer a variety of arc-rated headwear to suit your crew's needs. For high-risk environments where maximum arc and flame protection is essential, the FR Fleece Beanie (19 cal/cm²) delivers heavyweight protection in a simple, one-size-fits-all design.
When full coverage is required, the ArcTech Merino® Balaclava shields the head, face, and neck without compromising breathability. For a low-profile option under helmets, the ArcTech Merino® Skull Cap offers streamlined protection and all-day wearability. In confined spaces where hard hats may not be practical, our Arc-Rated Bump Cap, when paired with the Skull Cap, adds protection from knocks without compromising arc flash safety.
